The election of 1808 was James Madison's first presidential election and first victory. He ran against William Pinckney and George Clinton. As you can see in the map to the left, Madison is the green, Pinckney pink, and Clinton yellow. Madison had around three fourths (3/4) of the electoral vote, when you need to have majority of the electoral vote. He was also the smallest president at 5'4" not weighing over a 100 pounds.
